Privacy Policy

BopChat ("BopChat", "we", "us") is an iMessage app for sending pictures that disappear after they are viewed. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. BopChat is operated by AIx Solutions Group, Inc.

No account, and no personal profile

BopChat does not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts, and the app contains no third-party advertising or analytics software.

What we handle

iMessage identifiers. When you send a picture, iMessage provides an opaque, per-conversation participant identifier for you and the recipient. We use these identifiers only to deliver a picture to the right conversation and to track its send and view status. They are not linked to your real-world identity.
The pictures you send. A picture you send is uploaded to our cloud storage so the recipient can retrieve and view it. It is marked as viewed once the recipient opens it, and is automatically deleted from our storage within 7 days.
Basic activity timestamps. We record when a picture was created, sent, and viewed, so the app can show send and read status.

We do not collect your location, device advertising identifiers, browsing activity, or your address book.

How we use information

We use the information above solely to operate the service: to deliver your pictures to their recipients, to show send and viewed status, and to keep the service running and secure. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build a profile of you.

How information is shared

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We rely on infrastructure providers, including Amazon Web Services, to host the service and store pictures on our behalf. We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Retention

Pictures are automatically deleted from our storage within 7 days of being sent. We keep only the minimal activity records needed to operate the service.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information in our care. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and a picture can always be captured by its recipient (for example, with a screenshot or another camera), so you should not send anything you would not want kept.

Children

BopChat is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Your choices

Because BopChat holds so little about you, there is no account to delete. You can stop using the app at any time, and any pictures associated with your recent activity will age out of our storage within 7 days. For any request or question about your information, email us at the address below.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy on this page.
